Release Notes
1.6.1+Herc
- This release is geared towards better support of Hercules devices only, it is functionally identical to 1.6.1.
- Windows and OSX Hercules users should download the +Herc pack and read the docs at http://mixxx.org/hercules/.
- Linux Hercules users should download & install the Hercules Linux MIDI drivers, then 1.6.1+Herc packages on this page and read the docs at http://mixxx.org/hercules/.
- All Hercules users should read the docs and then look for help on the forums and IRC if they have issues.
Hercules DJ Console Mk1 users will have to wait until usbquirks is modified in the Linux kernel to remove the quirk for Mk1.
This is great news! How gratifying to see a company supporting Linux users.
ReplyDeleteAny idea if there's a chance these will be committed into the kernel at some point in the future?
There's no reason they couldn't end up in the kernel some day... Right now they are GPLv2 and source code is included inside the dkms package.
ReplyDeleteI would expect Hercules may want to do a few more stable releases before they went that way.
when is this bug going to get fixed? https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/257457
ReplyDeletethat kind of makes the whole program useless.
Anonymous: According to that bug report thread, we believe we've already fixed that problem and we were awaiting confirmation from testers that it was fixed.
ReplyDeleteAs you can read, since November we've not a single person report that they've had a problem with the waveform thread locking up with Mixxx 1.6.1. None of our developers have had this problem since then either.
If you're still experiencing this bug with 1.6.1, please post in that bug report and help us out.
great! I think I will buy an hercules dj controller then! :) I was looking at something for djing
ReplyDeleteOne little feature I'd like to see in Mixxx:
ReplyDeleteI just tested Ultramixer and when you close the program while tracks are playing, you hear the vinyl "slowing down" before the program window disappears.
Would be funny to have this (optional) feature in Mixxx.
Does anyone know, if it will work with Hercules DJ Console (not MK2)?
ReplyDeleteI have one, but don't know how to get it working.
i just got the hercules rmx steel and it is superb. only thing is i feel it works better with virtual Dj than mixxx. maybe its just me
