Calling all Turntablists!
We worked hard to make sure that our vinyl control support is the best out there. How does Mixxx 1.10.0 Beta compare to your current software for your scratching and turntablist needs? We want to hear from you! Please send us feedback, file a bug, write us an email, post to the forums, or chat with us.
Standard Beta Disclaimer
Mixxx 1.10.0 Beta has been heavily tested by our die-hard bleeding edge test subjects. That said, the usual warning applies: You should not play live with Mixxx 1.10.0 Beta unless you are willing to accept the risk of a crash during your set! We are not responsible if Mixxx 1.10.0 Beta eats your baby, sets your house on fire, or gets you fired from your residency at Club Booty.

Wow nice improvements! I'll just wait for the fedora x64 builds...
ReplyDeleteHi pyrignis,
ReplyDeleteThe Fedora package in RPM Fusion is not managed by us and we can't be included in Fedora main because we use things like the libmad MP3 decoder. We're looking for an RPM maintainer if you're interested!
RJ Ryan
I love mixxx. Keep up the great work.
ReplyDeleteRE: Ubuntu, 1.9.2 -> oneiric-proposed, 1.10.0 -> precise?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous #2 -- that's what we're aiming for! Hopefully this beta cycle will only last a few weeks and then we can get 1.10.0 into precise.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! It would be the best to get 1.10 into precise, with bugfixes coming later during the LTS cycle.
ReplyDeleteI'll make sure I try the beta out and tell you about the bugs!
Thanks for your work guys, keep it up!!!
Hey Im trying to record a short session, and is telling me i need to download Lame3 or something like that.. I did but still tells me I need it...
ReplyDeleteAny words on that?
Hi Sounderson,
ReplyDeleteWe cannot include liblame with Mixxx due to licensing issues. MP3 is not a free codec. To enable MP3 recording, see this wiki page: http://mixxx.org/wiki/doku.php/internet_broadcasting#mp3_streaming
Thank you.. will look into it.
ReplyDeleteI just download it and install it, and mixx still says the same, that can't record the session for the same reason.
ReplyDeleteWhat OS are you on and are you using the x86 or x64 version of Mixxx? Are you using 1.10.0 Beta or 1.9.2?
ReplyDeletemac OS X 10.7.7 Lion Mixx 1.10.0 Beta 1 and not sure if is 86 or x64 version..
ReplyDeleteWhen could be launched the final version of Mixxx 1.10?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous -- Soon. The beta has been going well and we have not heard of any serious bugs yet. Hopefully sometime between November 27th and December 1st.
ReplyDeleteawesome! thanks a lot for the software)
ReplyDeleteI'm super impressed!!!!!! I use traktor pro 2 but am 100% behind MIXXX. I personally think this software is better (relatively) than traktor. It's growing so fast.
ReplyDeleteI love it! My next gig is definitely POWERED BY MIXXX.
I followed the Eeepc installation instructions, and am now able to run 1.10-beta on my eeepc 1000 netbook (Debian Dist.). Very exciting performance.
ReplyDeleteI only wish that I'd found those instructions before attempting to install 1.9; had a whole lot of 'guess-work' going on, trying to find the right required packages to build from the source code :-)
hello this version support alac m4a apple lossless format? cause i play only flac files
ReplyDelete@Anonymous -- on OS X I believe ALAC is supported since we use CoreAudio native support. On Windows and Linux ALAC is not supported in this release. Look for more on this soon since Apple has open-sourced their ALAC library.
ReplyDeleteAre there any possibilities in the near future of mixxx to have effects like those in traktor? I've seen a few forum posts about it and I was just curious
ReplyDeleteIn 1.9.2 I can no longer drag the position of files in Auto Dj as I was able to in prior versions. Hoping this is addressed in 10.0
ReplyDelete@Nov 25 Anonymous
ReplyDeleteEffects are in the works :). Look for them as early as Mixxx 1.11 in early 2012.
@Nov 28 Anonymous
Sounds like a bug -- please file it at http://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx
i love the new beta! get a lower latency. Feels great! (but till jet i am not inside the sampler :/ )
ReplyDeletea question about the BPM can these values saved in the mp3 idtag that is verry handy for my way of workin
ReplyDeletejust installed your app, played some stuff, and have to say it is really pretty good. will give it a thorough testing during the weekend
ReplyDeleteHello!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen could be launched the final version of Mixxx 1.10?
@Anonymous -- hopefully in the next few days (maybe even today!).
ReplyDeleteGreat work!
ReplyDeleteI hope it will release very soon...
;)
Hey :)
ReplyDeleteThe Beta works great for me :) Smoother, more stable and better latency than ever before!
Tested with Ubuntu 11.10 and Hercules MK2!
Just ordered a NI Audio DJ 2 and a new 4-Channel Mixer :)
Does the Audio 2 run OOB with Kernel 3.0? Or do I still need to tune Alsa-Configs?
Hi!
ReplyDeleteWhere is the final version of 1.10 Mixxx software to i can download it???
@Anonymous -- it's not out yet. Check http://mixxx.org/download.php sometime this week or just watch this blog for the official announcement.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous I believe you still need to use a custom .asoundrc for the ADJ2. See the wiki page here: http://mixxx.org/wiki/doku.php/traktor_audio_2
ReplyDeleteAWESOME! I can only ask for Akai APC40 midi mapping please!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks again, fantastic update Im glad I checked back!
Peace
Final version???
ReplyDeleteWhen?
Thanks...
;)
Can you please extimate when we can have the Mixxx 1.10 Final?
ReplyDeleteThanks...
uma opinião, poderia ter um botão para pegar as músicas carregadas no sampler e jogar para o player 1 ou 2, assim poderiamos usar o sampler como uma pré-escuta. O que vocês desenvolvedores acham ?
ReplyDeletean opinion, could have a button to get the music loaded in the sampler and play for a player or two, so we could use the sampler as a pre-listening. What do you think developers?
ReplyDeleteHello all,
ReplyDeleteMixxx 1.10.0 is now released!
http://mixxxblog.blogspot.com/2011/12/mixxx-1100-released.html
Happy holidays,
RJ Ryan
@Anonymous RE: pre-listening. There is a wishlist bug for a library preview widget. Vote for it here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/366091
ReplyDeletecant get it to run on windows 7
ReplyDelete@The Mulching Moose
ReplyDeleteDid you try the 32-bit or 64-bit version? If 64 did not work, try 32.
I like the layout and the mic feature but 1.10.0 crashes while loading tracks. Not good there must be a bug somewhere!?
ReplyDeleteI was looking for a place to write something here, it seems than in new version of mixxx you will include a better automix function, good stuff, anyway i'm here to ask you that you include the new function as a selectable choice and not only new mode by default, a better way adjusting tempo, pitch etc, in mix is good for electronic music, house, progressive, etc, for other type of music is better the current crossfade mode, thanks for reading and keep a good work...
ReplyDeleteCan anyone tell me where to find the fabled m4a plugin for Windows????
ReplyDeleteplease support musepack .mpc best quality and very small files !
ReplyDeleteI'll second the mpc support, plus an easier way (or any way) to turn off local playback sound for monitoring the stream as another listener. On Lubuntu 15.04, Mixxx 1.11.0, and M-Audio 2496 and have been playing with Master - Headphones channels on the (Output) sound hardware tab with no success ...
ReplyDeleteOn Windows, Foobar (plugins are loaded in pre-amp stage) and Edcast work beautifully with the advantage of lame_enc.dll support of custom encode settings in lame_enc.ini. With it designed as such, you can easily mute Foobar and still listen to the stream.
(if duplicate sorry) ...
