- Fixed a rare issue with the Hercules DJ Control MP3 on Windows.

I just discovered Mixxx 1.7.0 a few days ago and found it really great but most of my MP3 are not tagged and appear as blank lines in the library view and in the play queue. This makes Mixxx unusable for me. I would be really thankfull if you could simply make that filenames are displayed when ID3 tags are not available. Many thanks to the development team for their great work.

Hmmm...I'm on Ubuntu 8.10; downloaded the .deb and installed it with dpkg -i. With 1.6.x, my hercules DJ Console Mk2 worked just fine but now it is not working. I don't know where to look for help.
Anonymous: Please consult our wiki for information on how to get your Hercules up and running on Ubuntu 8.10. Hercules released an official driver that is required to make it work in Mixxx 1.7.0:

I tried it on Ubuntu 9.10 and it still doesn't work with ALSA. 1.7.0 didn't work either. 1.6.1 works just fine.
Do any of youse run Linux?

Mixxx looks like an incredible peace of hard work and it is hard to believe that such a great-looking application is free & open-source.
However, I miss support for different timecode-types such as Numark Virtual Vinyl/VDJ, Torq or MixVibes (with needledropping of course, otherwise it may be a little inconvenient to use). Is anything in this direction planned for the near future?

Anonymous: Right now we don't have any plans to support additional timecode formats, but we'll slurp up whatever timecodes xwax supports in the future.

Mixxx is a great tool but when i use ordinary microphone and select a channel to get my beat b4 playin it out it sounds in the master thus not working lke the typical mixer which allows you to listen to tracks while another is playin without interferance.
this is actually a really good software for it to be free all over the net thx

hopeing that ladspa effects will be in 1.8 but the looping sounds and looks neat as
if no one else had thought about it(I doubt,I'm the onlyone) It would be neat to use the new Macbook pro or PC equivalients multitouchpad gestures as crossfader (left to right)or even volume up and down by using one vs. two finger vertically for channel one vs channel two.
this is just a thought. it would be cool. it would be like a built in mixer.
this would probably hard to do.
Ladspa effects wont make it into 1.8 for sure. They are not ready yet.
Regarding multitouch gestures check out Controllermate, should do the trick even with Mixxx 1.7 http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/17779/controllermate
the BPM detection tool is not the easiest and most accurate, i would like to see mp3 recording instead of .wav
and where in Gods name is the auto record button?
