Mixxx 1.6.1 Released!

Hot off the heels of our last release comes Mixxx 1.6.1, bringing a handful of new features and bug fixes.

Some of the more important changes are:
  • The waveform view now zooms instead of speeding up when the pitch is adjusted. This allows the beat ticks to align when songs are beatmatched, and was a feature request we heard many times after the 1.6.0 release.
  • FLAC support for Windows users! (Another much requested feature, and you can thank Michael Pujos for his hard work on this.)
  • Fixed a problem where the waveform view went unresponsive (thanks to Mark Glines for the patch)
  • Properly read artist and title names from FLAC files (another one from Mark)
  • Fixed drag-and-drop on Windows with the "Simple" display mode.
  • Fixed a Hercules RMX problem with its MIDI mapping.
  • Fix for songs with short artist names.
We've also had some mild success with M4A/AAC support, but it's still going to be a while before that feature makes it into a release unfortunately. We're also still working on our OS X 10.4 (Intel) package still, but we do have an unsupported OS X 10.5 package for PPC available for download here.

you saved my day! Awesome release and many thanks to Mark Glines! He fixed the most annoying bug in Mixx 1.6 (its just faster to set the CUE points visual). And just to point on it: Iam a only keyboard user and it thems that the settings for pitching up / down always falls back to 0.01. I need to go to the settings set them to 0.2 -> SAVE and than to 0.1 -> SAVE. Than i can pitch up by 0.1% by F2, F6.

Mixx is maybe the reason why i remove my turntables (reloop turntabels suck :) )

Anyway, awesome program!

Anon: Please take a look at the manual to find out how to use headphone cueing:

Other Anon: Currently, there are no plans for a turntable-esque skin. You're free to develop one yourself though!

I am a new user to this software, I'll like to ask some questions hopeful will not sound too stupid.

1. When I choose Traktor Scrtch in the vinyl control, the program ended up in debug mode. Is it a software bug?

2. When I scratch using Serato Scratch Live, the sound comes out like pitch bend more than scratch. What can I do about it?

Two questions:

1. is there a turntable pass-thru for if we want to play a vinyl record?

2. Can each virtual deck be output to a different channel, so we can mix with an external mixer?

Thanks!

I don't notice any difference in the waveform display when changing the pitch? Zooming was already there before. I'm looking forward to Mixxx being able to save any things we change like in Traktor.

Great release ! With itunes going drm free a lot of us are using mp4/aac when do you expect this format to be supported ? i'm debating whether it's worth it to convert my library to mp3.

Do you guys have any idea how happy you make people all over this globe by proxy? All the parties thumping to playlists built on the fly on your amazing software? Keep up the incredible work, guys. Me and my roommates can't wait for .m4a/aac support...
